Health Care

This year, EBank continues to support education and health, aligning with its strategy and stemming from its relentless commitment to the Egyptian community, and in line with its CSR activities. The Bank funded the Stem Cells Lab of the Faculty of Dentistry, Cairo University, to bring the latest needed medical equipment and research tools. The lab represents the future generation of medical and therapeutic transformation, as it will not only help cure dental diseases, but also in preventing many other diseases, aligns with our willingness to help upgrade education and healthcare services, while supporting scientific researches represent the concrete foundations for more advancements in Egypt.

On the occasion of presenting this generous donation, a team from the bank visited the lab and the faculty, to show our support to education. On the other hand, EBank revamped the computer lab of Faculty of Education, Helwan University and provided 30 PCs. To commemorate this donation, a branded sign with the bank’s name and logo was placed on the lab facility.
The bank continues to financially support different healthcare causes falls within the cooperation protocol with Ahl Masr Foundation for establishing and furnishing a double room in the Burn and Accidents’ Victims Hospital, including medical equipment. This year, EBank continued to cover the chemotherapy sessions of breast cancer patients in Bahia Hospital for Early Detection and Breast Cancer Treatment, through the previously signed MOU with the foundation. A team of Bank’s employee visited the hospital to emotionally shows support to patients. Moreover, the Bank supported Urology and Venereology Department at Benha University Hospitals in renovating different medial sections, such as the intensive care units, the in-patient clinics, the operations rooms and the administration and educational buildings… etc, as well as in buying the latest medical equipment and tools.
Additionally, EBank supported Magdy Yacoub Foundation through financing heart operations for kids as well as the establishment of the new hospital of Aswan. It is also worth noting that the Bank funded many Corneal Operations which were executed in Ophthalmic Unit in Kassr El Einy Hospital, this is in coordination with Inner-Wheel Club and Association – New Sharm El Sheikh.

Environmental

The bank continues its new initiative to support agricultural sector in a mega project called “Plant – Collect – Export”, in coordination with Masr El Kheir Foundation. Through this initiative, EBank is funding Egyptian farmers for planting 50 greenhouses on a 50-hectare land plot in Luxor. The donation will also cover the training programs of farmers, who got their contracts and started already in planting their greenhouses, in order to ensure the product quality and reach the exports’ standards.
The Bank participated and sponsored two major CSR forums, to get acquainted with community’s foundations and NGOs, to design its CSR plans accordingly.

 

 

Financial Inclusion and Awareness

In line with CBE Financial Inclusion Initiative, the Bank is always keen to participate every year in such initiative, to introduce its products and services to larger and different segments of the community. We demonstrated these products and services in universities, youth centers and clubs as well as smaller communities, to promote opening banking account with zero fees and with no minimum limits, helping raise financial awareness among children and youth. The Bank continued to participate, for a fourth consecutive year in this aspiring initiative.

 

Furthermore, and in order to spread the financial awareness to children and youth. The Bank continued to participate in the Global Money Week and the national initiative “Shaping the Future”, by the Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI), in partnership with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Youth, and some international schools, where branches visits, workshops and lectures were conducted to different universities and schools’ students. In this line, the Bank also sponsored and adopted the Egyptian Banking Simulation Model, organized by the Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences, Cairo University, where financial and banking informative sessions were conducted to those university students.
Furthermore, EBank supported the World Youth Forum held in Aswan, about the future vision of the banking sector, entrepreneurship, financial inclusion digital transformation and financial technology, and where business models were presented in these different fields under the auspices of president El Sisi and the attendance of local and international governmental figures.

Unemployment

 

As part of our role towards the community development and corporate social responsibility, and in order to contribute in addressing the unemployment issue, the Bank participated in some job fairs, organized by several entities and in different business fields, in addition to its continuous support to Tahya Masr Fund, as we believe in the cause of the national projects for the country and for development issues of the whole population.

Business Community Support

 

the Bank continued to participate in different activities organized by the Chambers of Industries and Commerce as well as the Businessmen Associations, by attending or sponsoring exhibitions, forums, seminars, conferences and roundtables, locally and internationally. The Bank provides financial support to such chambers and organizations through memberships and participating in their different events in order to remain an active member among these communities. During this year, the Bank was keen to know all about new implications on international trade and global economy.

 

IIn order to develop and reinforce business relations with businessmen and exporters, the Bank continuously coordinates with the Ministry of Trade and Industry as well as other specialized centers. The Bank always gives priority to introduce itself to local and international business communities, to open new markets for Egyptian products and to facilitate commercial trade through the Business to Business (B2B) events organized by these associations, such as The American Chamber of Commerce, Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Union of Arab Banks, El Wafaa’ Association, Federation of Egyptian Banks, Egyptian Banking Institute, Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority, Egyptian Capital Market Authority, The Egyptian Exchange, Misr for Central Clearing, Depositary and Registry, Egyptian Businessmen Association, Arab Union for Industrial Exports Development, Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization, I-Score, Lawyers Syndicate, the Egyptian International Company for the Production of Aluminum Sectors (EIPAL), and the Arab Investors Union.

In Line with our strategy to introduce the Egyptian export community, mostly manufacturers from different sectors, to key export service providers in Egypt, the Bank was keen to participate, for the fourth year, in the international event “Fruit Logisitica”, which was held in Berlin, Germany under the auspices of the Agricultural Export Council, in order to develop and expand the Egyptian export especially in food and agriculture sector. The objective was to help Egyptian exporters expand sales by providing them with an opportunity to meet key export service providers in Egypt, in a “B2B” event, through networking, data-collection and raising awareness about key resources to expand export sales.

Moreover, the Bank participated in Euromoney conference, the biggest economic and business event worldwide, the International Exhibition for Investment and Franchise 2018 “Buzinex”, the business forums and roundtable organized by British Egyptian Businessman Association “BEBA”, discussing the New Export Strategy, Trade Finance Forum and others, as well as Egypt’s Builders Forum.
Additionally, it was a very good business opportunity for the Bank to participate this year in the Intra-African Trade Fair – IATF, in order to invade new African markets for Egyptian products through lots of meetings with the international, global and regional African organizations. This is in line with the Bank strategic plan to expand the African markets to support Egyptian exports through signing commercial agreements with those financial African entities, such as Afrixim Bank African Development Bank, studying the credit lines with first degree banks according to customers’ needs in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, South Africa and Nigeria, being the potential Markets for Egyptian exporters.
In the same regard, EBank participated in China-Africa Economic & Trade Expo Fair, held in China, under the supervision and organization of Export Development Authority, as well as Egypt Investment Forum and People and Banks Exhibition, in order to also introduce its new retail products and corporate services.

A major event, that the Bank was very interested and keen to participate in, is the 41st Annual Meeting of the Association of African Central Banks, the AACB Conference, which was held in the conventional center in Sharm El Sheikh, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, and was attended by CBE governor, Mr. Tarek Amer and African banks governors as well as Egyptian and African governmental entities and organizations. The conference tackled the ways of economic collaborations between African countries. This is in line with Egypt’s strategy for opening trade and economics’ channels with African countries for further foreign cooperation.
EBank sponsored the business mission to Ghana in partnerships with Export Council for Building, Refractory & Metallurgy Industries, to tackle and discuss the obstacles, problems that faces the Egyptian Exports in this field, where the Bank seized this opportunity to present its different services and financial products. B2B meetings were conducted with key governmental and businesspersons’ figures, this is in line with EBank’s strategy targeting to double Egyptian exports to African countries.

The Bank is supporting “Nile Preneurs” initiative, initiated by Central Bank of Egypt, executed by Nile University in coordination with banks and the Projects Development Unit which aims to provide financing services, training, education, marketing services and investment opportunities as well as ready-made projects including feasibility studies for entrepreneurs.

Additionally, the Bank this year sponsored “Chief Risk Officers in Arab Banks Forum: The Road to Basel 4”, a conference organized by Union of Arab Banks in Alexandria, where a team from the Bank attended.

In the context of the women empowerment, economically and financially, EBank sponsored different initiatives to wider support women and entreprenelle. These initiatives were on the occasion of International Women’s Day and the SHE CAN Summit and in partnership with UN Women Egypt. Where the Bank supported and attended the “Women for Success” 5th Annual International Conference and Entrepreneurial retreat under the theme of “Globalization of SME’s – She Made IT”, EBank role was promoting Export activities specially within women entrepreneurs. The conference was organized by the Arab League and Business Women of Egypt Association.

It is worth mentioning that the Bank was listed as one of the top 100 effective companies and its Chairperson, Mervat Sultan as one of the top 50 successful leaders.
Stemming from our role in supporting production and export, the Bank sponsored and participated in other specialized events such as, the Cairo Wood Show as well as the handcraft exhibition, in order to support the Egyptian products to meet the export high standards.
Moreover, the Bank signed an MOU protocol agreement with the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund, through which the Bank provides funds to eligible investors.
